Today, 10th October marks World Mental Health Day, a global reminder that mental health matters to everyone, everywhere.
At Forklift Truck Depot Limited, we believe that supporting our people goes beyond the forklifts, tools, and day-to-day jobs. Our business runs on people — their safety, their wellbeing, and their mindset. That’s why we’re taking a moment today to remind everyone: it’s okay to not be okay, and it’s always okay to ask for help.
🧠 Behind Every Smile, There’s a Story
In our industry, it’s easy to focus on deadlines, breakdowns, and keeping fleets moving. But behind every hi-vis, every engineer on site, and every voice on the phone, there’s a person and sometimes, that person might be struggling.
It’s not always easy to talk about how we feel. Many of us are guilty of bottling things up or pushing through when things get tough. But talking about mental health isn’t a weakness it’s a strength. When we share, we support each other, and that’s what builds a stronger team.
💬 Supporting Each Other in the Workplace
At FLTD, we’re proud to be growing a culture where:
Conversations about mental health are normalised.
Support is visible, whether it’s through a friendly chat, a team check-in, or professional guidance.
Kindness is standard, because you never know what someone else might be carrying.
We encourage everyone to look out for each other, listen without judgment, and reach out if something doesn’t feel right. Sometimes, just a simple “Are you okay?” can make a real difference.
🌿 Taking Care of Your Own Wellbeing
It’s not just about one day. Taking care of yourself every day helps you perform better at work and feel better at home. Here are a few small steps that can help:
Take short breaks between jobs — a clear mind is a safer mind.
Talk about what’s on your mind with a teammate or manager.
Step outside for fresh air, especially after long shifts.
Rest properly and make time for yourself outside of work.
💚 Remember: You’re Not Alone
Mental health matters, not just today, but every day. If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out. Help is always available:
